About the AITD Excellence Awards
Since 2001 AITD's Excellence Awards have recognised outstanding achievement in learning and development and in organisational development.
In 2013, AITD for the first time offered a new category of Award, for the Learning and Development Professional of the Year. This Award recognises individual achievement with a particular focus on consistently high quality leadership and the sharing of skills and knowledge.
In 2015, three new categories were added, reflecting the changing learning and development profession: social/collaborative learning; gamification/simulation for learning; and, talent development programs.
Award Categories
Best Implementation of Blended Learning Solution
This award is presented to an organisation who can demonstrate excellence and impact by utilising a combination of learning delivery mechanisms/methodologies/modes in a new or existing learning initiative.
Best Use of Technology for Learning
This award is presented to an organisation that has utilised learning technologies in a workplace learning initiative to enhance learner experience and contribute to positive organisational performance.
Best Learning Organisation
This award is presented to an organisation that has developed a learning initiative to support and drive a specific business strategy which has resulted in enhanced organisational performance.
The Dr Alastair Rylatt Award for Learning and Development Professional of the Year
This award is presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to learning and development in the past 18 months.
Mark Pompei Student Scholarship
This award is presented to an individual who is a part-time student of learning and development in recognition of academic excellence and a commitment to the field of learning and development.
Best Talent Development Program
This award is presented to an organisation that has implemented a talent development program to enhance individual or team performance and contribute to overall positive organisational performance.
Best Use of Gamficiation / Simulation for Learning
This award is presented to an organisation that has used gamification or simulation in a learning initiative to enhance learner experience and contribute to positive organisational performance.
Best Use of Social / Collaborative Learning
This award is presented to an organisation that has implemented a social or collaborative learning initiative in a workplace to enhance learner experience and contribute to positive organisational performance.
