Released: 4 April 2016
In February 2016 the CSIRO released a report in response to the rising challenge of digital disruption for Australia’s workforce. The report, Tomorrows Digitally Enabled Workplace, identifies six megatrends associated with technology and work; including automation, breaking down of geographical boundaries, entrepreneurs, an ageing population, upskilling and the knowledge economy.
Examining those megatrends the CSIRO has set out skills and mindsets that are needed for the future, stressing the importance of education and training. The in depth analysis of this mindset encourages the need for the role of the workplace in creating a culture of lifelong learning to ensure employees are equipped with necessary skills.
