Closing the Gap Between Learning and Performance

Charles Jennings | Founder, 70:20:10 Institute

Closing the gap between learning outcomes and organisational performance improvement is a challenge. Despite most organisations continuously developing and refining their learning offerings, linking learning with organisational performance can be a major task. How can we extend the impact of training and development beyond ‘improving individuals? What are the implications of achieving that? How can we design solutions that link learning with improved organisational performance? Where do we start? How can we determine which metrics to measure learning outcomes with their impact on performance?

In this AITD session Charles Jennings will address these issues, and more, to help uncover ways to close the gap between learning and performance.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
  1. L&D needs to move from a learning mindset to a business mindset we are to deliver value to our organisations.
  2. Performance consulting needs to be at the heart of our L&D practice.
  3. Our focus needs to extend beyond instructional design to solution design, starting with the end in mind.
