The New Zealand Association for Training and Development (NZATD) is the professional association for workplace learning and performance / training / learning and development specialists in New Zealand. NZATD was formed in the early 1980’s and has members from the commercial, public and education sectors. Members in areas without large branches belong as ‘members-at-large’ and are supported through their closest branch.
NZATD’s national office is based in Lower Hutt, Wellington. National office supports branches and administration for the organisation. See Contact Us for details.
The national executive comprises eight elected members of the association from whom the president, vice-president and treasurer are elected. Each branch also selects their own executive including a president and treasurer. The branch presidents meet regularly with the national executive.
Meetings and events run regularly around the country. For the latest meeting in your region see the Event Calendar.
NZATD aims to:
- Foster the development of professional competence and high standards of performance in training and development.
- Promote understanding of training and development and its contribution to the performance of individuals and organisations.
NZATD has recently joined forces with AITD to jointly produce the publication Training & Development. Details of the latest edition are featured under NZATD Magazine.
