Empowering Operational Leaders as On-the-Job Experts

Liam Jurd | Learning and Capability Partner, Kmart

As a low cost operator, with 30,000 team members in over 350 Kmart stores across Australia and New Zealand, staying closely connected to the development of our leaders of the future can be a challenge for a single, centralised learning and capability team.

This presentation will explore and unpack our approach to creating an “Operational Learning Academy Framework” which allowed us to utilise the leadership and development capability of some of our best management teams across AUS/NZ stores to support, mentor and coach the future leaders of Kmart, whilst maintaining a low cost approach.
