Keara Byrne
Keara is an experienced L&OD thought leader and coaching psychologist, who uses human-centred design to uplift people and customer experience. She has extensive experience and success working in complex organisations and transforming culture through developing people and capability.
Her experience spans across private, government and not-for-profit organisations across a range of sectors, including finance, health and customer experience. In her current role as Head of Leadership and Organisational Development, Keara is shaping a culture of learning to develop leaders using human centred design.

Neil Coulson
Neil has 15 years’ experience within the learning and development of technology and data teams, from air traffic control, financial and data services. As the recipient of the 2021 AITD Mark Pompei Student Scholarship, he continues to pursue pedagogical, business and analytics development, with Graduate Diplomas in Management (Learning) and Leadership, cloud computing and data ethics certifications, and is completing his MBA.
It is this combination of interests that led him to data enablement, and working with organisations large and small to develop and deploy data literacy programs that are meaningful and relevant.
Neil is an award winning playwright, producer and director, who enjoys leaning on this experience to make memorable and creative solutions to make data engaging.

Ger Driesen
Think of someone connecting people, ideas and inspiration in the global L&D community and you've just created a good description of Ger Driesen. He is the learning innovation leader at aNewSpring: the Learning Journey Platform for Training Providers. In this role, he focusses on sharing the latest insights with L&D professionals to inspire them to design, developed and deliver learning the best way. He also works as a consultant at Challenge Leadership Development Academy, the company he co-founded.
Ger is known as 'the Dutch L&D trendcatcher' based on his articles, blogs and tweets on L&D trends and he is a regular speaker at international conferences.

Darin Fox
Darin Fox is the Chief Research Officer and Principal Consultant at Expertunity and HFL Leadership. He also works as a senior coach in both expertship and leadership and is a master facilitator of both. Darin joined HFL in January 2020 as a consultant, coach, group, and facilitator while also leading research initiatives to better understand the obstacles and drivers of developing expertise in organisations.

Lindsey Leigh Hobson
Lindsey Leigh Hobson elevates forward-thinking organisations and their emerging leaders to create the ultimate next-generation of leadership.
She is an award-winning speaker, a qualified life coach and the founder of The Learning and Development Collective, where she leads a network of over 300 L&D professionals from some of Australia's biggest corporates.
Lindsey is also on the Victorian Leadership Team for Professional Speakers Australia.

Krystal Irving
Krystal is the Head of Strategic Capability at ANZ, with nearly two decades of experience in organisational development and all facets of learning.
She is currently accountable for overseeing development of ANZ’s critical people capabilities, and also has deep experience in and a passion for leadership strategy and development.

Kuva Jacobs
With a PhD that explored the visualization of mathematics as interactive eLearning modules, learning design has long been Kuva’s passion.
Since then she has led teams to develop learning courses in a range of sectors such as marketing, transport and telecommunications.
As co-founder of Emergent Learning, Kuva’s goal is to create innovative and impactful learning that drives real business outcomes and engages learners in a way that is meaningful and relevant.

Charles Jennings
Charles Jennings is a former chief learning officer and leading thinker in innovative talent, learning and performance approaches. An author and well-known speaker, he is particularly known for his work with the 70:20:10 model.
Charles’ career includes roles as a business school professor, as head of the UK national centre for networked learning, as chief learning officer for global companies, as a consultant, and as a member of advisory boards for international learning, performance and business bodies.
He is a fellow of the UK’s Royal Society for Arts (FRSA) and a fellow of the Learning & Performance Institute (FLPI). He is also a senior advisor at the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and other bodies.

Liam Jurd
Liam Jurd is a learning and capability partner for Kmart Australia, specialising in large scale leadership development programs. Liam has a passionate focus on providing development opportunities that enable individuals to be the best versions of themselves every day. This is prominent through Liam’s focus on empowering Kmart leaders to become learning experts, creating a culture of development and growth within Kmart store leadership across Australia and New Zealand.
Liam began his career as a facilitator for a non-profit organisation, working with young people and corporate organisations, to build empathy and collaboration within community and corporations.
This human centred focus is at the core of Liam’s work today, developing learning programs that empower existing leaders in Kmart stores to create an award winning learning environment.
In his 4 years with Kmart Australia, Liam has designed, developed and delivered award-winning learning and talent programs, maintaining a keen focus on providing low-cost, high-impact learning solutions for Kmart Australia.

Johanna Kerrigan
Johanna is the Founder and Director of Be Learning, a multi-award winning consultancy with networks across the globe, focused on building results through developing people’s mindsets, productive habits, skills and embedding activities to help blue-chip organisations increase engagement, be change ready and achieve business results.
Johanna has co-presented with world-renowned academic, Professor Carol Dweck, bringing her Growth Mindset work to life through practical application in the workplace.
Johanna has successfully led a number of multi-faceted learning solutions with tangible business results, including a shift in NPS results from -20 to +52; sales increase, adding $122M to the pipeline as a direct result of the sales programs and 38% lift in employee performance and self- efficacy.
Her experience within the role of Director is enormously beneficial when coaching, facilitating and delivering key-note presentations as she has ‘hands on’ experience. Johanna is highly sought after for her skills in personal coaching for executives working in this field throughout Australia and overseas.

Peg Klein
A 1981 U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Rear Adm. “Peg” Klein became the first woman Commandant of Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy and was responsible for 4,400 Navy and Marine Corps officer candidates. A designated naval flight officer, she qualified as mission commander and airborne communications officer in the EC-130Q in 1983.
During her career, she served as the Secretary of Defense’s Advisor for Military Professionalism, Chief of Staff for U.S. Cyber Command and as director of operations for the Navy’s Network Warfare Command. In 2011, she commanded an American military force of five ships, 30 aircraft and more than 3,300 Sailors and Marines in combat operations in the Mediterranean Sea. Klein also commanded an aviation squadron and air wing.
She retired from the Navy in 2017 with 35 years of service. She now serves as the Dean of Leadership and Ethics at the Naval War College (2021).

Tessa Kowaliw
Tessa is an international speaker and founder of Circle Round (a consulting service specialising in engagement, human-centred design and education) and ROCK Booth (a "tech for good" initiative which designs digital solutions alongside the humans they serve).
A former English and German teacher, Tessa now works with tech start-ups, and healthcare and community-based organisations, providing expertise to bridge the gap between products or services and "end users". She has worked for a range of companies and organisations including: xapiapps, Personify Care, International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement, Utrecht Medical Center, and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Tessa sees the world of AI as an opportunity to rehumanise some of our over-industrialised, legacy systems, including Education and Health.

Claire Madden
Claire Madden is a leading voice internationally on Generation Z. As an author, social researcher, keynote speaker, and media commentator, Claire is in high demand as an expert in interpreting social trends, demographics, and implications of generational change. Claire is the author of Hello Gen Z: Engaging the Generation of Post-Millennials.
Claire is highly regarded for her dynamic and engaging presentations where she translates robust, research-based content into strategic applications for educators, managers, and business leaders. Claire is commissioned by some of the nation’s largest companies and leading brands to interpret the changing landscape and communicate the implications for business and society.
As a media commentator, Claire is regularly interviewed on prominent television programs including ABC News Tonight, The Drum, The Today Show, SkyNews, Sunrise and The Morning Show, as well as on the radio and in print media. Claire is also a PhD candidate, studying the impact of Gen Z and work. Claire is also the Founder and Director of the research based strategy and communications agency, Hello Clarity

Amy Martin
Amy is the Learning Technology Adoption Lead with the Queensland University of Technology and is a member of the AITD board. Amy has spent over 20 years working with technology and has spent the last decade focusing on learning technologies and technology adoption.
As a firm believer in human-led adoption practices, she works with organisations to increase the technical capability of staff, leading to a more skilled workforce and measurable productivity and efficiency gains. In her role at QUT Amy works to enable future-focussed learning and teaching initiatives, including responding to emerging technologies, and working with educators to incorporate technology into teaching practice.

Denise Meyerson
Denise Meyerson is a renowned expert in adult education, innovation, and people and culture strategy with over 30 years of experience. She is the founder of MCI, an award-winning education and training company dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of students and job seekers. MCI provides high-impact learning solutions for corporates and individuals seeking to grow in their careers.
With a PhD in English, Denise has built and grown highly successful education businesses and has served on several corporate, advisory, and government boards. Her strong global perspective in Edtech has led her to spearhead efforts to transform education in Australia, Africa, and Asia.
Denise has been recognized with several major business awards for her trailblazing contributions to education and her passionate support for driving change through the power of learning. MCI is part of APM, Australia’s largest human services provider with a global presence across Europe, Asia, the UK, and Canada.

Michelle Ockers
Michelle is the founder of Learning Uncut. She works with leaders who want learning to make a bigger impact in their organisation. Her core expertise is organisational learning strategy, capability uplift for learning teams, and continuous learning skills and practices.
She has worked with organisations in a range of industries including defence, public sector, higher education, aviation, manufacturing and financial services. Michelle was awarded the Australian Institute of Training and Development’s 2019 L&D Professional of the Year.
She also received the 2019 Jay Cross Memorial Award for outstanding contribution to the field of informal learning. Michelle hosts the Learning Uncut podcast.

Nigel Paine
Nigel Paine is a change-focused leader with a worldwide reputation and a unique grasp of media, learning and development in the public, private and academic sectors.
He has extensive experience in leadership and consultancy with public service broadcasters, SMEs, global industry players, government and education institutions.

Cathy Sanders
Cathy Sanders is a passionate advocate for the value of lifelong learning. With over fifteen years of experience in training and education, she has completed numerous qualifications of various levels including a Graduate Diploma of Education and Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning). Cathy's dedication and expertise have earned her recognition as a Fellow by the Australian Institute of Training and Development.
In addition to her professional work, Cathy is an active member of the Queensland Education and Mentoring Committee with the National Association of Women in Construction. Where she volunteers her time and knowledge to support career pathways for women in construction.
Cathy's commitment to education extends beyond her work and volunteer activities. She is also a Co-Chair of the board for the Griffith University Post Graduate Students Association where she is currently pursuing a double Master's degree in Human Resources, Employment Relations, and International Business.

Chemène Sinson
Chemène is the founder and principal at Blackwater Projects, an independent Australian-based practice that provides advice, products and services that focus on learning for improved performance.
With a background in elite sport coaching and school teaching, Chemène delivers training and assessment qualifications, helps experienced facilitators and assessors get better at what they do, and has supported numerous organisations to design and implement learning experiences that improve on-the-job performance.
She is also an accomplished writer, with more than 100 organisations using learning and assessment materials she has written.

Tony Sloman
Tony is the director of Passion and Purpose. P&P empower people by transforming the way they communicate and creating learning experiences that deliver their aspirations. Tony developed an approach referred to as the EMPOWER METHODOLOGY - transforming how we ‘show up’ in communication where confidence, influence and authenticity is tested.
Tony is an AITD facilitator for Presentation and Facilitation Skills. He graduated from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London with a diploma of professional acting and holds a Bachelor of Science (IT, accounting, psychology, philosophy), 3 x graduate certificates in executive coaching, training & assessment. Doug Taylor
Doug Taylor was appointed CEO of The Smith Family in August 2021. Doug has built a 25-year career in the social sector with national and international experience in leading innovative social impact initiatives in partnership with the not-for-profit, government, philanthropic and corporate sectors.
Prior to joining The Smith Family, Doug was the Deputy Executive Director at Uniting NSW and ACT. He has considerable operational experience in managing large and complex organisations serving people experiencing disadvantage, including delivering disability, community care, early learning and education services.
Doug’s passion for the sector is evident through his Board appointments which include Director of the Australian Centre for Social Innovation and Chair of Warakirri College – a school for disengaged young people in Western Sydney. Doug is also a member of the Centre for Social Impact Advisory Board and is a Community Fellow with Western Sydney University.
Doug has attended the Stanford Executive Non-Profit Leadership Program and is a graduate of the Australian Institute for Company Directors.

Vanessa Trower
Vanessa began her professional career in human resources in 2003 before transitioning into learning and development, working with large global organisations and gaining recognition for her designed learning programs. Vanessa is now the lead and founder at Nexperk who design, deliver and support learning and employee experiences.
Vanessa served as the AITD New South Wales divisional council president and is a multi-award-winning learning professional in Australia and the Asia Pacific. This year, she is a finalist in the Empowered Woman Leadership Awards with the Leadership Institute.
Vanessa always offers positive energy, authenticity, and dedication to the learning community.
