A highly interactive and experiential course that will introduce people to Design Thinking processes/methodology. It will help participants understand how Design Thinking can inform their approach when working with clients to design human-centered learning experiences.
The course will include -
• The most useful and applicable aspects of Design Thinking / Human Centred Design by using a series of learning arches to underpin and guide participants through the learning process.
• Overview of key Design Thinking concepts and tools such as – empathy and understanding the needs of the learner, the role of the facilitator, stakeholder engagement, interview techniques, reflection, ideation, prototyping and testing.
• Insight into Design Thinking as a useful methodology for designing the right learning experiences.
• An understanding of Design Thinking as a collaborative and co-creative process that supports co-design with clients to achieve the best possible learning experience.
• Integration of facilitation, adult learning and instructional design through a Design Thinking lens.
• A working scenario that provides participants with a shared learning experience to engage with the design thinking process and methodology.
• Action learning and reflection process – small group work and discussions.
• Individual and peer-to-peer learning.
