Welcome to AITD's Exciting Book Club.

Dive into the world of knowledge and self-discovery with the Australian Institute of Training & Development's (AITD) Book Club!

Our next meeting is set for 25 June 2024 at 7.00pm AEST, and we're inviting you to join us on a journey that promises intellectual stimulation and meaningful conversations.

In the era of connectivity, we're breaking barriers and bringing book lovers together on Zoom. No matter where you are, join us for an engaging discussion that transcends geographical boundaries.

Entry to the book club is FREE for AITD members as part of your membership benefits.  Non-members are also welcome to join at a cost of $10.00 per session.


**Book Selection: Be Your Own Leadership Coach**

This sessions read is Be Your Own Leadership Coach by the insightful Karen Stein. 

Karen is a Professional Certified Executive Coach and author of International Award winning Be your own leadership coach (self-coaching strategies to lead your way) and is passionate about supporting leaders to be their best selves.

She has enjoyed a 30+ year career in professional services, with 23 years as a Partner of Deloitte, and brings a depth of understanding of the challenges which leaders face. With over 2000 one-on-one coaching hours Karen has a unique perspective of the intersection of coaching psychology and lived-leadership experience, which enhances her engagement with those she coaches. She acts in service to their success by drawing on the field of evidence-based coaching psychology obtained through her Master of Science in Coaching Psychology.

Karen has designed and implemented the Coaching Program for Women Partners of Deloitte, where, since 2016, she coaches senior women leaders in support of having long-lasting sustainable careers. She also leads group coaching in support of those managing their menopause in the workplace. In a voluntary capacity she coaches clients of not-for-profit, Dress for Success, and senior leaders as clients of the social enterprise, Bambuddha Group.

Karen is a passionate thought-leader and actively involved within the coaching communities of Asia-Pacific. As a partner-faculty member of Deloitte University Asia-Pac she co-facilitated leadership programs for senior leaders within the region. She has also been a Steering Committee Member of the Institute of Coaching Asia Pac Round Table Series, and an evaluator of the International Coaching Federation’s Prism Awards which honoured organisations globally for exceptional coaching programs.

Based in Sydney Australia, Karen is known for baking delicious honey cakes. Her love of sweet treats extends to her love of sharing interesting thought leadership. She has a recently authored a book chapter on Coaching Mental Toughness with a Systemic Mindset, in Coaching for Self Awareness about Attitude and Mindset published in the UK.

You’ll hear Karen as a guest speaker on podcasts, presenting at keynotes and writing and sharing articles with her network to enable those around her to live their best life, be great leaders and ripple their impact to make this world a better place.

Just as she hopes for you, Karen’s aim is to have a positive leadership impact which is longstanding in her absence.
